Project meets specifications, sizes, colors and design of A4 Dimensioned Sketch

The project appears as outlined in the design sketch. Any additional elements or design adjustments have been minor to meet practical considerations.  Materials and dimensions exactly as described in sketch.     
 
The project appears as outlined in the design sketch, but has significant adjustments which are described in an accompanying written explanation.  Materials and dimensions similar as described in sketch. The project mostly appears as outlined in the design sketch, unless an accompanying written explanation is submitted. 
(1 point: No written explanation is submitted but student explains changes from sketch orally).    
The student has demonstrated very little or no understanding of the topic, and/or has not completed the task to match any of the descriptors for this criterion.

Construction quality of project

Quality of construction and presentation exceeds standards expected of a Grade 8 science student. The project is robust enough to withstand display in the science classroom.  Project conveys impression of significant time, design & creativity investment. Quality of construction and presentation is consistent with standards expected of a Grade 8 science student. The project is robust enough to withstand display in the science classroom.  Project demonstrates attention to criteria. Quality of construction and presentation has some presentation problems or failures during display caused by poor construction quality or construction demonstrates haste and minimal planning. The student has demonstrated very little or no understanding of construction requirements, and/or has not completed the task to match any of the descriptors for this criterion.
