OPENING (on clean A4 paper)
Build your choice of shapes P (for C+), Q (for a B+) or R (for an A+) See projected image on overhead.
TODAY'S OBECTIVES
- Draw and build cylinders to required dimensions.
CLASS LESSON
- Drawing cylinders
- Student each build two cylindrical prisms:
- both have same volume: between 150-151 cm^3
- one has height less than radius but other one has height greater than diameter
- no single dimension may be an integer
- on each end, measure and show dimensions of diameter and circumference;
- on each side show dimensions of height
- write dimensions on the outside of each end and the side
- Review assignments and dates
- 4/15-bring 3 sketches to class
- 4/16-bring dimensioned sketch to class (keep a copy for your self!)
- 4/20-building project due
- 4/27-reflection due
- Build one cone to above requirements (see #2)
ASSIGNMENT
At beginning of next period, hand in:
- Summative project drawing (which includes measurements, calculations, costs, etc.)
- Two cylinders and one cone; all of them must have measurements written on them and must have volume between 150-151 cm^3
